Episode 617/18: The End

Figured the finale deserved a better SPOILER ALERT system.

Speechless...utterly speechless. As Jack closed his eye in an amazingly poetic final frame and as the word LOST rose from a black background, Megan and I sat there absolutely speechless with tears rolling down our cheeks. "The End" was the most artistic and beautiful television pieces ever aired. You may think this is going a little over the edge, and that I absolutely have no life, but before the finale actually began I told Megan that it's going to be hard to imagine life without Lost. However, after this finale, I think I can. The finale (as I will talk about later on) really embodied everything this series is, and brought an awesome and fitting end for these characters.

I made a Lost cake for me and Megan's Lost finale party. Isn't it awesome? It was good too.

First of all, the finale pumped the volume up on the emotional level. It made every moment happening on the island incredibly important, and brought a close to a lot of the loose ends that needed fixing. For instance, Richard becoming mortal closed his story. Also, the Jack-Kate-Sawyer-Juliet love quandrangle was completely resolved with that iconic moment with Jack and Kate on the cliff and through Sawyer not remembering his life until he meets up with Juliet. Finally, the Jacob vs. MIB issue was resolved with the death of the mortal Not-Locke and the assumation of the island by a truly better and kind leader, Hurley. (YES!) On top of all of that, the revalation scenes in the flash-sideways (afterlife) world were specatacular. I could not stop crying through almost all of them. Jin and Sun were so cute and Sawyer and Juliet were amazing. The scene with Claire, Kate, Charlie, and the birth of Aaron was so incredibly powerful as well. All in all, this finale was everything I could have asked for in an end to this show.

There have been people online however who have had less-than-optimistic comments about the finale, and all of season 6 in general. They say that the season answered no questions and gave no resolution. Basically a lot of the comments have said that the writers took an easy out with having everyone be dead in the end. There have been a lot of people (myself included) who have defended the finale in all its glory. One commentor wrote, "I dare all of you to wikipedia 'McGuffin' and enlighten yourselves."

So this is what I dare of you now, blogosphere! Go ahead, I'll wait.

Okay, so basically a McGuffin (or MacGuffin, whatever you prefer) is a literary device used to motivate the characters, while the main plot is really happening. On Lost, the McGuffin is the Jacob vs. MIB struggle and everything that surrounds it. In other words, the island. It is the driving force that motivates the characters' actions but really the main plot is happening under the surface. The main plot of Lost is the people. It is how these people came together and helped each other to overcome the issues in their lives and "let go" as Jack's father said. In the framework of the show, the plot is the story of how all these flawed characters were really lost until they found each other. So even if "the light" wasn't explained (even though it doesn't really need to be, it's the source of life hence the island's magical ability to heal, the inability of mothers to give birth after the light had been tampered with, etc.), the main plot of Lost is still intact.

So those are my thoughts on the finale. I don't necessarily want to go into too much explaining because I really think the finale needs to speak for itself. Once again, I thought it was a beautiful end to an amazing show that I and many others have basically grown up with. I hope you have enjoyed watching season 6 and my Lost blog. Thanks for hanging in there and I would really like to thank Megan and Ashley for working so hard to catch up on seasons 1-5 so they could watch it for me. It meant a lot to have everyone on this journey together. Good luck to the future endeavors of the cast and crew of Lost! We'll miss you!

Episode 616: What They Died For

The summer is shaping up. I have started work and found it to be not as bad as first thought. I'm not actually dreading going there. Don't get me wrong, I really still don't want to go, but at least it's not immediate terror and despair that goes into the process. Meanwhile, the LI Theater Company along with the Special Olympics Caledonia County division in Vermont put on the "Special Olympics Showcase" which is a combination of the work from acting classes, student directors, and this year the Special Olympics kids. It was a great show and it revealed I think to a lot of people who came for the Special Olympics show but were sort of force fed LI Theater in the process the power of art and why theater is important. Bravo!

Also, I recieved my grades for this last semester and they ended up all being A's except for science. Go figure. This makes my GPA for the year a 3.88. Rock on! I'm so excited to start the new school year I can taste it, but hopefully when things really pick up for the summer it will go by faster. Please make it go by faster! Anyway, not having the internet is another problem seriously getting on my nerves, as you know. I've officially given up on all of my Facebook games (a tragedy, I know), and the only way I can communicate with my director this summer is through email. It makes things a little difficult.

The other day, someone asked me if I was adjusting back into home life from college for the summer. The answer was no, not really. It's hard to go from having so much freedom and the ability to do anything in Burlington to not having freedom and having absolutely nothing to do but work in Lyndonvillle. The only things keeping me and everyone else who has recently returned to Lville for the summer are the friends. Seeing everyone again, friends past and present, was amazing. We instantly all reconnected. Even my cats and I reconnected completely. Except for the other night. My cat Patches always sleeps on my bed, and I love that but sometimes she's in my way. So the other night when I returned home from the showcase I moved her and she got mad. She growled and ran across the bed and out of the room, snarling the whole time. Five minues later, she comes in to my room and slowly makes her way to my head and starts kneading her paws into my pillow and purring. Then she lays down and snuggles up next to me. I love my cat.

Anyway, it's time for the Lost blog. The last new episode before the series finale on Sunday! Oh, and before I forget, check this out: http://www.lost365.com/.

SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/ SPOILER ALERT!
It was like a total meet & greet with Jacob dude! Seeing everyone with Jacob was kind of weird because it sort of tied up the mystical and the realistic aspects of the show. It was done tastefully though, and not in a corny way. All I have to say is that I KNEW it was going to be Jack! Although, probably everyone knew it was going to be Jack, I mean he's the one that's dealt with his issues most in the show, and had the most complete character change from a man of science to a man of faith. Now this man of faith has to act because FLocke is going to destroy the island.

Speaking of FLocke (I really hope we find out his name in the series finale), he finally found Ben, Richard, and Miles and so did we. However, their plan didn't work out so well because now Richard is a little under the weather (or dead, who knows?) and Ben has joined FLocke's side after the death of Widmore (and Zoe, but we don't really care about her. She looks like Sarah Palin.) During that scene, it seemed to show the audience that the Widmore vs. Ben struggle isn't the central (or even necessarily important) struggle on the island. It appeared to show us that their blows were part of a personal vendetta, not anything actually having to do with the destiny of the island. It's all Jacob vs. FLocke man!

The final aspect of this episode I want to mention is Desmond and the Flash-Sideways. Desmond is like Jacob in the flash-sideways world in the way he is bringing everyone together. And it appears as if this concert (Charlie much?) is the key for getting them all together. How this is going to play out is beyond me, but I can't wait to see it. It seems as though Desmond is fulfilling his destiny because of what FLocke said about Desmond being the "fail safe." Hopefully this doesn't mean the death of everyone. That would be bad.
Can't wait for Sunday night! It all comes down to this. Everything we have hoped for, loved, and been inspired by is going to be finishing. Hope you have an epic Lost party!

Episode 615: Across The Sea

Hello everyone! How've you been? Things are going pretty well in this neck of the woods (literally). I got my license and now I'm all set and ready to go for the summer. Everything is worked out with my boss, with rehearsals, the license has been earned, and I'm also going to be singing in a quartet this summer (something I just found out). So that's my summer, how is yours going? I think it's time for another edition of the Lost blog!

SPOILER ALERT! abc.go.com SPOILER ALERT!

Sorry this is so late but not having the internet is really annoying. This episode was absolutely awesome but it sort of turned things on its head. At the same time, this episode connected all aspects of Lost and proved to the audience that the producers and writers knew exactly what they were doing from the beginning. The light under the island is the source of life, death, rebirth. In summary, it is an energy that contains all life. This is where the healing power of the island comes from. Jacob, as protector of the light, can harness this power (giving Richard the ability to live eternally and protect the candidates) just as F-Mom (Alyson Janney-love her!) used it to keep the twins from hurting each other and keeping them trapped on the island.

MIB built the wheel!
MIB just wants to leave the island to see the world where he came from from. The only problem is, he is now trapped in some sort of limbo, a spirit between life and death. Smokey can form into life, and can destroy life, just as the light can but he is trapped on the island. It was so awesome to see this storyline finally come full circle with the clips from season 1. That was an amazing and powerful moment. I'm trying to remember which episode it was though, any ideas? To switch gears (not really), the light is also what the DHARMA Initiative was sensing and tapping into when they were building the Swan station, it is also the power that enables the island for time travel. Basically, the light is some seriousness. I only hope it is explained further in episodes. I think it will explain certain "special" people (Hurley with ghosts, Walt harnessing his power, the ghosts of the island), and all the "strange" things that happen on the island.

It all makes sense now! (Well, in a fantastic, sci fi kind of way.) Hope the episode tonight is just as brilliant (except without Sayid, Sun, Jin, and Lapidus)!

Episode 614: The Last Recruit

It's been awhile since I've put out a Lost blog, since there was no new episode last week. Now there are only three episodes left. This is not boding well for me.
SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/watch/lost/93372 SPOILER ALERT!

This episode was a MAJOR tear jerker! I think this episode was made and put here just to kill people off. But I know that's not true. This episode did, in my opinion, exactly what it was supposed to do. It established Jack as the new John Locke basically, and as a new man of faith. It also reaffirmed and established Not-Locke as TOTALLY EVIL. I hate that guy. I've hated him since the beginning of season 6, so all those people who were like, "Oh...maybe he's not evil:" nope. He's evil.

So, because so many people died, (Which was Not-Locke's plan from the beginning according to Jack. He just wanted to get everyone in one place to blow them all up and kill them. I seriously think it's because he can't leave the island unless all the candidates are dead.) I decided for this post to sort of make a memorial to the beloved character who are leaving us...which are the foreigners.

Sayid - the self-proclaimed "bad man" who was completely a good man on the island throughout the first five seasons then died, came back to life, turned evil, and turned back to good only to sacrifice himself for his friends and the greater good. I can't belive Sayid is gone. Sayid was one of the best characters, and one of the classics.

Frank Lapidus - with the best last name ever, Frank Lapidus served as the comedic character for this entire season. We didn't really get to know Lapidus as well as we got to know the rest of the freighter team, but somehow I feel Frank served his purpose. Thank you Frank. (By the way, don't really know if he really is dead, he may have escaped which is what I'm hoping for.)

Jin and Sun - Are you SERIOUS!? This was where I started crying. They just get reunited, Jin has never met his daughter, and now they are dead? I guess neither of them are the candidate along with Sayid. In a way, I sort of felt like their story had closure. They were over their problems with each other, they had Ji Yeon, they found each other again and reaffirmed their love, Jin learned English...they sort of reached everything that they needed to. It would have been nice for them to have lived, get off the island, be with Ji Yeon, and live happily ever after, but we don't necessarily do that on Lost now do we?

They will be missed, but with three episodes left, hopefully the pain won't last long. In my opinion, Jack is the candidate as this episode has shown us. In "The Substitute" when Not-Locke sees the boy in the jungle and the boy says, "You can't kill him." I think he's talking about Jack. There's something to think about. This episode was incredibly powerful, and I look forward to what's next.

RIP Sayid, Frank, Sun, and Jin.

Episode 613: The Last Recruit

Yet another awesome episode bringing us closer and closer to the series finale. Before I start with the thinking and analyzing, let me show you how awesome my flat looks (and I've finished it since this. Just have to put finishing touches and then I'll show you the final product):

SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/watch/lost/93372 SPOILER ALERT!

This episode was basically everyone-centric with the flash-sideways bringing us closer and closer to some sort of climax and everything on the island following suit. I love how the flash-sideways are bringing everyone together and Desmond is now basically working as the new Jacob. He is bringing everyone to their true destiny, and showing them that this life is not where they're supposed to be. Except for Hurley's flash-sideways last week, I think this week's was the best so far. Here's where everyone is at right now:
Jack (and David), Sun, Jin, Ben, and Locke are at the hospital.
Sayid, Sawyer, Miles, and Kate are at the police station after Sayid's epic arrest.
Claire, Desmond, and Ilana are/were at Ilana's lawyer office (what!? it was good to see Ilana again though after her little boom boom time). Also, it was awesome to see Claire and Jack get introduced to each other again.

So I think the flash-sideways are going to come to an epic point fairly soon. I don't know how it will tie in with what's going on on the island, but that's what makes Lost so awesome. Okay, so we're all one big group, but then Zoe shows up and reveals that they have boom boom power. Then everything falls to shit basically. Sawyer has a plan to get away, Claire is abandoned, FLocke wants to fight, Sayid isn't sure if we wants to kill Desmond! AHHHH! So much happening at once! I am happy though that this week we got to see more of the characters we haven't been seeing much of like Kate and Sawyer.

Okay, from FLocke's angle. He is all evil. I do not believe for a minute that he is the good guy and Jacob is bad. From calling Locke a sucker to telling Jack he was just trying to get him to water (yeah...ok!), I don't like him. At all. I think a lot of what drove this episode is the fact that maybe Sayid and Claire can be redeemed. I don't think Sayid shot Desmond, and I think somehow Desmond is acting like the new Jacob, even though he isn't a candidate. I don't know, but I think the INFECTION can be cured. Claire was brought on the journey, and I think it will help her. Good for you, Kate!

Now from Jack's angle. Jack is the new Locke and I love the changes it has made to his character. He is sentimental, so caring, and has a deep new faith for the island that we haven't seen before from him. It's very weird to hear him say that "the island isn't done with us." Not gonna lie. But I like it! Sawyer has become lilke Jack now and that isn't as nice to see. I don't know what jumping off the boat will lead to for Jack (except more boom boom time), but it might be something we have never seen before.

Okay, the last thing I want to say is how amazing Jin and Sun's reunion was. So beautiful! I couldn't help tearing help. It was one of the most magical things ever. And then the guns come out...
Unfortunetely, there's no new episode next week. But the week after next come back and there'll be a new Lost blog!

Namaste!

Episode 612: Everybody Loves Hugo

Yay! We finally watched this episode! Sorry this is so late, but we finally got a chance to watch this episode all together. Now, I know I said that "Dr. Linus" was the best episode so far, but now we have a new best episode! This one was absolutely amazing. But before we go into all that, I had my room selection today and my dreams have come true. I got my single in Converse! WHOOT!

I'm living in a castle next year!

SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/shows/lost SPOILER ALERT!

This episode was Hurley centric as the title indicates which is obviously a play on the season 2 episode "Everybody Hates Hugo." This episode lives up to everything Lost is. It was beautiful, and it seriously advanced the plot. The flash-sideways seem to be coming to a point. Desmond is working to bring the passengers of 815 together again by helping them remember their other life and destiny. Libby and Hurley reconnecting was absolutely amazing to see. Their relationship on this show has been entirely established and we really see the love they share for each other.

On island, some serious crap went down. First of all, Ilana=best Lost death ever. Her blowing up was even almost better than Nadia's death and although it was a match to Artz's death back in season 1, it was better because it was completely unexpected. I'm curious to see what this means about Jacob. Ilana was chosen and trained her whole life by Jacob for the mission of the island. Does this mean destiny is not really what it means?

Also, we learned what the whispers in the jungle are. They are the souls of people who are stuck on the island because they cannot move on. I am very glad this question was answered and it seems to make sense now with Walt back in season 2 with the whispers. Because Walt is special and can manipulate things (mainly death, I'm feeling as though he can see spirits) he was able to "communicate" with Shannon and later with Locke through these spirits. Now Michael is trapped on the island. Serves him right.

Now, about Desmond's death. I'm not sure where to place it and I'm definetely not sure what is going on with the flash-sideways and Desmond running Locke down even though it was pretty cool to see Desmond completely Nadia Locke. (Nadia is the term for someone getting run over now.) I think Not-Locke threw Desmond down the well because he knows that Desmond is important to his demise. I think Widmore is looking to defeat Smokey (as Not-Locke said, this is war) but for his own ends. Either way, Smokey needs to be defeated, obviously.

The plot has seriously been moved along especially because the two camps have now merged into one, something I definetely wasn't expecting. Everthing is coming to a climax, a war and battle of good and evil, and control of the island.

I love it.

Namaste!

Episode 611: Happily Ever After

Time to take a look at...Desmond's episode! Yes Desmond is back with a bang and it's fantastic!

SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/watch/lost/93372 SPOILER ALERT!
Okay, this episode began with Widmore's henchmen FAILING. They kill one of their own men in a solenoid chamber with an electromagnetic event while preparing a test for Desmond that Widmore wanted to happen RIGHT NOW! Jin meanwhile is just wandering around wondering what the hell is going on. But nevertheless, Widmore throws Desmond into the chamber and asks for his help. Desmond is basically pissed. Not even because he thinks Widmore is going to kill him, but also because he's back on the stupid island! But apparently Widmore needs to make sure Desmond can survive another electromagnetic event (Swan station season 2 anyone?). But why?

This episode played out almost exactly like "The Constant" only there weren't jumps between the alternate world and reality. Also, Desmond always seems to get episodes just about his adventures. Why? Because he's Desmond. Also, in this episode the flash sideways actually meant something and I believe now we are drawing to a close on them hopefully because Desmond will be able to show the rest of the Oceanic crew that they were not meant for this life, but for another destiny (main theme of this show anyone?). So love is the key to connecting the two realities and Desmond with his infinite power to travel and view different realities and slots in time (“You’re gonna die Charlie.”) is the one who can convince and show everybody the truth. Amazing.

There were many cameos in this episode that effects what happens to Desmond so I'm going to analyze the giant flash-sideways through them:

Hurley - "Your bag's on carousel 4 dude."
Claire - "No I don't need a ride."
George - Minkowski. Yeah, he's a driver in flash-sideways world?
Widmore - It was so weird to watch Widmore and Desmond be friends and civil with each other. But it was also cool to see how Desmond's one goal was achieved is this flash-sideways world. But that is a complete foil to what Desmond really wants. That is what makes his jump between worlds possible, his true goal and his love for Penny and Charlie (his son).
Charlie - It's incredibly sad to see Charlie in the flash-sideways world because it shows us what would have happened to Charlie if he hadn't stopped using heroin and where his destructive path could have led him. But it is good to see that Charlie also recognizes that he wasn't meant for this life and he had love in another life. It was beautiful to see. Plus, that flash realization Desmond had with Charlie underwater was priceless. One of the best Lost moments ever.

Jack - "He was on our plane and now he's in the hospital?...What?"
Eloise - AHHHH! She still scares me but her hair was pretty epic. It seems as though she knows everything that is happening and for the time being she is trying to prevent the two worlds merging. But why...?
Daniel - Widmore? It was creepy with Eloise but now it's just downright scary. Leave it Daniel, the sensible one, to recognize this bridge and gap between worlds and how they were not meant for this one. Daniel provides the information for Desmond to act.

Penny - And with this we come to Penny who Desmond did finally find, bringing his consciousness back to the present where he agrees to help Widmore, but then Sayid "captures" him. Whoa... But still in the flash-sideways timeline Desmond and Penny set up a date and Desmond vows to find everyone from Oceanic 815 to "show them something." Let's bring them BACK TO THE ISLAND!

Namaste!

Episode 610: The Package

I went to go check the cast list when I had a free minute today and I discovered that it will not posted before Friday. AHHHH this is killing me. Like, literally.

Okay, on to the Lost blog:

SPOILER ALERT http://abc.go.com/watch/lost/93372 SPOLIER ALERT

I decided to analyze this episode by characters because a lot happened character wise and plot wise, so it's good to take a look at both at once.

Sun and Jin (flash-sideways): They're not married! Oh no! They are, however, really cute lovers who have been discovered by Mr. Paik, Sun's father. Jin was bringing the payment to Keamy to kill him! Wow, that' pretty heavy. Anyway, it just shows that Jin and Sun have still always meant to be together, even if Jacob had never touched them. The bad news is, Sun has been shot during Jin's tangle with Mikhail (he got shot in the eye!) and she was pregnant! Ji-Yeon! No! I'm guessing there's another Jack flash-sideways coming at us soon, and maybe someone named Sun is his patient?
Sun and Jin (on island): They are married! And still looking for each other. It has officially been roughly two seasons (if you combine the end of season 4 with this season and all of season 5) and three years (their time) that Sun and Jin have been apart. I will not stand for it any longer. They must be back together! And now it seems like it's never going to happen because Jin is now on Hydra Island with Widmore, Zoe (who looks a lot like Sarah Palin), Desmond (he's back!), and Co. They're looking for Jin's help with a map he signed off on (when he lived with the DHARMA INITIATIVE in the 70s) of electromagnetic energy. I think that is why Desmond is here. But why are they studying this? Could it have to do with vanquishing a certain smoke monster? I think one of the best moments of this episode was when Jin saw the pictures of his daughter for the first time. That was an absolutely beautiful moment for Jin, one I don't think we have necessarily seen before.

Meanwhile, Sun is confronted by Not-Locke who says that he has Jin (little does he know Jin was taken by Widmore's people while Locke was out on his little hike) and he will reunite them. Sun, who doesn't care about the candidates or destiny but still does not trust Not-Locke (yay!) runs away, hitting her head on a low hanging branch. She goes unconscious and wakes up not knowing how to speak english! I think this is a fantastic foil to the first-third seasons where only Sun could speak english, but now Jin can too. Wicked cute.

Jack: Jack has become the new Locke basically and has accepted the terms of destiny. He is now the leader of the "good camp" I think is fair to say and I like to see it. Also, that scene with he and Sun was adorable. Plus, we got to see Jack in doctor mode again.

Not-Locke/Widmore: It's war. But I don't think this war in good vs. evil. It's something different. I still can't believe Widmore is on Jacob's side. He's trying to exploit the island and yet he wants to keep Not-Locke (Smokey, Man In Black, whatever) on the island. Hmmm...

Kate: Apparently indespensible for the time being according to Not-Locke as he tells Claire. He only needs her to get Sun, Jack, and Hurley (the remaining candidates) to their camp and then after that "whatever happens, happens". Wow, Not-Locke. Really?

Sayid: Still INFECTED. Only now we have heard what the symptoms are. He can't feel anything. It seems as though Sayid is only a shell of what he once was. I don't like it. Especially now that he's Not-Locke's little spy bitch.

Richard: I like this new redeemed Richard. Thank you Hurley. Richard is large and in charge now and is completely gung-ho for keeping Not-Locke on the island. I absolutely loved Sun's blow up at him though. That is going down in Lost history.

Desmond: He's back! But where's Penny? Where's Charlie? What is his purpose? What is your plan Widmore!?

We'll find out next week!

Namaste!

Episode 609: Ab Aeterno

This is it! This is the Richard centric episode we have been waiting for!

SPOILER ALERT! http://abc.go.com/watch/lost/93372 SPOILER ALERT!

There were not many questions answered this episode about the Man in Black or Jacob, but we did recieve a lot of answers. I'm just going to go through the episode piece by piece. I do want to comment right off on Nestor's Carbonell's acting performance in this episode. He was amazing and the way he played the period scenes were fantastic. I even loved him during the present scenes, especially when he did his giddy (though it wasn't giddy) little laugh right at the beginning of the episode. This was an amazing episode, and I just had to watch it again today in order to completely understand everything that happened.

Okay, let's get started. Right at the beginning of the episode we get to see the entire scene of Ilana at the Russian hospital. Why she's there? We don't know. What happened to her? We don't know. How she knows Jacob? We don't know. But we do know what Ilana's mission is: to protect the candidates. Awesome! OK, Ilana team go!

Next: THE ISLAND IS NOT HELL. We were told about four years ago during season 2 by Damon and Carlton that the island is not hell, it's not purgatory. Richard only says this because yes he believes it because he's hurting and this is what the Man in Black told him in order to manipulate him into killing Jacob. The island is a cork apparently that is containing evil. This evil I think is this physical electromagnetic force that brews under the island that causes the time travel, sets off the Swan station, and causes women to not be able to become pregnant. This evil is manifested in the smoke monster and as told through the metaphor at the end with the smashed wine bottle, smokey wants to escape to spread his evil through the world. Jacob is trying to contain him and prove him wrong by giving people a chance to redeem themselves on the island. What a beautiful story. Gotta love Lost.
With that, we come to Richard's backstory in the Canary Islands in 1867. Isabella and Richard are wicked adorable together. I felt so bad for Richard and I will continue to feel bad for Richard for the rest of the series. His backstory was awfully sad, possibly even more sad than Locke, only not really. The doctor and the priest have to be the worst doctor and priest have ever seen in my life. They were horrible! I'm glad Richard killed the stupid doctor. Next, we learned the origins of the Black Rock and I totally knew Richard came in on it! I had a feeling especially with everything that had happened recently with Richard looking at the chains last week and Not-Locke saying "Glad to see you out of those chains!" Totally knew it.

Now I want to talk about that last Ghost Whisperer-esque scene at the end where Hurley really has taken control of his gift. It was adorable and seeing Richard's development and coming to terms with the perspective. Also, Hurley's very creepy warning at the end was scary, and I think Hurley was scared too. Yikes!
And even though we learned that Richard recieved his "gift", (he asked for it) we don't know what this power is that Jacob has. Is Jacob God? Who is the Man in Black? Is he the devil? He said he had a mother but I'm still unsure about who these characters actually are. I guess we shall know soon!
Namaste!
